Do I need to create an account?
No account or sign-up is required. Simply paste the URL of any public Threads post into the input field on our homepage and click Download. The tool works instantly without storing any personal information about you.
Is it legal to download media from Threads?
Downloading media for personal use — saving a video to rewatch offline, keeping a photo you were tagged in — is generally acceptable. However, you must respect copyright and intellectual property rights. Redistributing, republishing, or claiming ownership of downloaded content without the original creator's permission is not permitted.
Why can't I download from some posts?
Several things can prevent a download: the post may have privacy settings that restrict third-party access, the account may be private, the post might not contain any downloadable media (text-only posts), or Threads may have temporarily rate-limited our tool. If a download fails, try again in a few minutes or check that the post URL is correct and the account is public.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. Threads Downloader only works with public posts. Private accounts require authentication that our tool doesn't provide, in order to protect user privacy. If you follow a private account and want to save their content, you'll need to do so directly within the Threads app.
